Meet Your Coach

Hey future firefighter, my name is Markell Williams and I will be your coach/mentor that will guide you through your journey to becoming a firefighter. I am a former career firefighter from Arizona. I'm also a former collegiate student-athlete from Sacramento State where I played football. I graduated with a degree in Sociology back in fall 2013 and began my firefighter journey in spring/summer 2014. I've volunteered as a fire cadet, endured the grind of the firefighter testing process and had a lot of success. I was sworn into the fire service in summer 2015 where I officially became a firefighter. I was a firefighter/EMT and specialized as a hazmat/technical rescue technician. I also was a mentor for our fire cadet program through the department. Throughout my career I've coached and mentored many candidates that went on to become successful firefighters. I am a certified personal trainer with a specialization in sports nutrition and strength and conditioning. My mission is to help develop as many undeniable fire candidates for the fire service that I can. I remember what it was like pursuing the career; the uncertainty, the fear, the confusion, the unknown. That is why I've developed this program to help combat those obstacles. My job is to help shorten the learning window of what it takes to be successful in the firefighter testing process. I'm excited to help you develop your skills so that you have a higher probability of making the top ranks. I will see you on the other side. Good Luck Future Firefighter!
